Hamisi Tarrant 

Dear HMS Parents, Students and Families: 

My passion as an educator has always been to help students succeed. This passion has led me to the position of Principal of Haddonfield Middle School. I am excited to take this journey with you!

As you may know, I have served as Dean of Students at HMHS since 2019, leading the Science, Counseling, World Languages, Physical Education, and 21st-Century Learning departments. I also oversaw discipline, attendance, and 504 accommodations.

For the previous fifteen years, I taught PE and Health at various schools in Cherry Hill, spending nine years at Cherry Hill High School West where I taught and coached basketball, football and track. I also acted as a PLC (Professional Learning Community) Coordinator.  My greatest joy was to develop and implement the S.T.A.R. (Special Talented Athletes Recognized) Games, a modified Special Olympics event for students with disabilities.

My goal as an educator is always to connect with students and staff to ensure excellence at all levels.  Additionally, I am a huge proponent of teaching skills that help us deal with stress.

I look forward to learning and growing with your child. Middle school can be an exciting time for children. In partnership with the HMS faculty and families, I want to make sure it is enjoyable, exciting, engaging, and filled with the joy of learning!
